What led you into a career in Web3? – BlockChain News Today

I would have to say that community co-creation is the single most important factor. Not only does it enable an excellent product-market fit, as community members are continuously involved in the decision-making process and provide product feedback, but Web3 companies can also give something back too. Unlike the Web2 world, it’s not just the company that profits from a project’s success: it’s the community as well.

Fashion League will be a female-centered mobile-first game on the blockchain. What inspired you to create a metaverse game?

Games should be all about having fun, and I wanted to create a diverse and inclusive metaverse game with low entry barriers for women so that we could onboard more women into the sector. Combining my twin loves for The Sims and fashion, I thought these interests could provide a solid, intuitive framework for metaverse community-building, enabling women to easily get involved and help build a Web3 game they adore playing.

What are the best ways to encourage more women to get involved in Web3?

By introducing women via familiar tools and concepts they already know and understand. This influenced our decision to create Fashion League, as we strongly believe gaming will be the sector that encourages Web3 mass adoption: women make up 46% of mobile gaming players, and demand for fashion-themed games grew by 109% in the past year alone.

Making Web3 more inclusive would improve the space greatly, especially when it comes to Web3 consumer brands. Females have significant purchasing power: more than 85% of purchases are made by them, so naturally, they should be involved in the creation process.

Diverse voices are absolutely vital for creativity, decision-making, and the longevity of projects.

Do you have any tips for women who are curious to learn more about Web3, but not sure where to start?

  1. Listen to Web3-related podcasts & Youtube videos: they are fantastic ways to build knowledge at your own pace.
  2. Get connected with Web3 innovators on Linkedin, Telegram & Twitter and engage in conversations that provide value on these platforms. For those keen to get involved in Web3 gaming, make sure you are on Discord too.
  3. Participate in Web3 conventions. They present a brilliant opportunity to meet and network with those in the community, where you can share, evaluate and discuss all things Web3.

Do you have any advice for women considering a career in Web3?

There is no need to be intimidated by Web3 jargon, or overwhelmed by complicated blockchain and technical infrastructure. Instead, focus on the core message behind blockchain technology and how it will be here to stay and change how the world operates. In these early stages of development, there truly is an opportunity for everyone to get involved. evaluate how you could become a Web3 creator or builder, by considering where your own individual talents lie and go from there.

Which Web3 projects inspire you?

I’m most inspired by NFT projects that manage to build strong communities with utility to the NFT holders.
