Twitter is looking to hire a Senior Product Manager for its crypto division

Twitter has been making major milestones in the crypto sector. A new job posting from the social media giant now shows that it could be recruiting a leader for its crypto division, focusing on blockchain, cryptocurrencies and Web3.

This is the latest initiative by Twitter in the crypto space. The expansion of Twitter into other crypto developments apart from Bitcoin comes weeks after Jack Dorsey resigned as CEO. Dorsey is a Bitcoin maximalist, and at one point, he stated that Bitcoin could bring “world peace.”

Twitter hiring a senior crypto product manager

The new job posting notes that Twitter wants to hire an individual who will serve as a Senior Product Manager in matters to do with crypto. The individual will explore various areas in the cryptocurrency sector.

The hired individual will be working in the same division as Tess Rinearson. Rinearson was hired by Twitter and has been involved with several blockchain projects, such as Interchain and Tendermint.

The job posting was shared by Rinearson, and she stated that the hired individual would be “her thought-partner in exploring all of the opportunities. Hence, Rinearson is most likely maintaining her position as the Crypto Engineering Lead. She also added that Twitter would publish more job listings related to the engineering division.

Twitter venturing deeper into crypto

The newly listed job shows Twitter’s plans regarding the cryptocurrency sector. A part of the job posting notes that the social media company is looking towards membership tokens. As such, Twitter could be issuing its custom blockchain token soon.

The job posting further adds that Twitter is looking towards decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). DAOs are a form of governance method on the blockchain that allows token holders to vote for decisions related to the platform.

The posting concludes that the crypto division and Twitter’s social media decentralization division could soon work together. This could be in pursuit of decentralization following the increased hype regarding Web3.

While Twitter has yet to issue an official statement on launching DAOs and participating in Web3, it has launched several other crypto products for its users. In September, Twitter launched a Bitcoin tipping feature.

This week, Twitter announced the integration of NFTs, whereby users cannot post verified NFTs on their profile pictures. The feature will be only available to Twitter Blue users, but it could boost the growth of the NFT community on the platform.

Your capital is at risk.
