The top 30 Panama Bank is a ‘Bitcoin-friendly’ institution that embraces cryptocurrency services.

In a series of tweets and jokes, Panamanian bank Towerbank welcomes Bitcoin and cryptocurrency users.

Panama’s cryptocurrency adoption is picking increasing speed. Towerbank, a Panamanian financial company with over 200 people and 40 years of banking expertise, has proclaimed itself Bitcoin (BTC) friendly, making crypto accounts possible.

The bank has opened the floodgates to the crypto world with a series of tweets and leaks from a blockchain event in Panama City, the country’s capital. Representatives from Towerbank welcomed crypto enthusiasts to create accounts with the bank during the Chamber of Digital Commerce and Blockchain of Panama’s blockchain event on Thursday.

According to reports, Towerbank’s vice president of product, Gabriel Campa, stated that crypto clients would not face the same “setbacks” that Panamanian nationals would have while doing crypto transactions with the bank.

“Towerbank is crypto-friendly,” Cristobal Pereira, executive director of the Latam Blockchain Summit and a participant in the meetup with Towerbank and Campa, said. He said crypto aficionados may “come to register accounts and deposit withdrawals from exchanges without worry” in a tweet.

“Hello, crypto community!” Towerbank’s official Twitter account wrote on Saturday, confirming speculations that the Top 30 Panamanian bank has taken a shine to crypto aficionados in Latin America. Since then, the tweet has been pinned to the user’s profile.

According to reports, cryptocurrency transfers are restricted to $5,000 per month, and the bank does not provide direct crypto-to-crypto services. To date, the action has been seen as a signal to the crypto community that digital assets worth less than a specific amount can be spent at a bank without difficulty.

Towerbank has since retweeted tweets claiming that clients would be able to link their cryptocurrency accounts, such as Binance, to their Towerbank bank accounts, but no official announcement has been issued.

Although there is a wave of pro-crypto enthusiasm in Panama, the president declared in May that a crypto bill would not be passed anytime soon.

According to some analysts, the bank’s pro-crypto stance is a way to broaden its client base by reaching out to the money-oriented bitcoin community.

Finally, the bank demonstrated its Bitcoiner credentials by retweeting a joke developed by Bitcoiner Aldo Antinori on Twitter. Towerbank’s main building in Panama City’s financial area is shown in the tweet as having Bitcoin-themed laser eyes.

Towerbank has been contacted for comment, and the item will be updated as soon as feasible.
