The SBF is ‘optimistic’ about institutional cryptocurrency adoption in 2022.

The creator of the FTX exchange believes that as regulatory clarity increases throughout the world, the crypto industry will see an increase in institutional usage.

Sam Bankman-Fried, the creator of FTX crypto exchange, is confident that the clarification offered by authorities throughout the world would accelerate institutional adoption rates for crypto in this and coming years.

SBF discussed crypto legislation, institutional adoption, and the Metaverse in a Bloomberg interview on January 3. Despite the market’s difficult conclusion to 2021, SBF remains “optimistic” about 2022.

The factors that make me optimistic are simply better regulatory certainty in the United States and worldwide, which I think may assist a lot with institutional adoption.

When asked how he anticipated institutional adoption of cryptocurrency may grow in the future, he said, A lot of it relies on what happens on the regulatory front as well.

His thoughts on regulatory clarity driving more institutional growth in crypto reflect those of Nansen’s Beili Baraki and Metrika’s Nikos Andrikogiannopoulos.

He speculated that if governments feel like they’re receiving regulatory clarification, adoption may occur in a “tidal wave.” Instead of a tidal wave, it’s going to be a protracted process, possibly spread out over a few years, he noted.

Furthermore, he stated that a lot of different nations declared that there would be regulatory frameworks coming out over the next few years.

Several nations have been working hard to develop proper regulatory frameworks for bitcoin.

Another reason of SBF’s confidence seems to be the zeal with which institutions are beginning to pour into the crypto ecosystem. He stated,

Every significant financial institution I’ve spoken with, every huge bank, every large investment bank, pension funds, they’re all looking at this industry.

When asked what a mix of cryptocurrency and the metaverse might look like, the crypto millionaire stated that with billions of players worldwide, nonfungible tokens (NFT) in video games would most likely be one of the most important roles that crypto will play in the metaverse.

According to Statista, there will be around 3.2 billion gamers in the globe in 2021. According to DappRadar, the crypto gaming business has only 1.2 million players. This shows that integrating bitcoin into popular games will significantly increase worldwide crypto acceptance, validating SBF’s prediction.
